Unless you grew up in around late 70’s while living under a rock, there was this album called “Frampton Comes Alive” (F.C.A). Have you heard of it? I know just about everyone, except for maybe people in the USSR and China, had it!
It was an album that pointed me towards this pop rock genre. I had rock, jazz, blues, folk all rolled up into one. The solo’s that Mr Frampton came up with was just plain and simply sweet. I still to this day have a fairly strong Peter Frampton influence to my work.
Some people say that this album was played to death, but in my eyes it still has legs. I mean 16 million copies sold worldwide to date and the thing was put out in 1975 for heavens sake! He also made F.C.A. II on DVD which was produced in 1995 and still being sold today.
A little trivia for all you Frampton fans. Did you know that he was one of only 3 bands to ever sell out a show at Philadelphia JFK stadium, which holds 110,000 people? The other two acts are Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones.
After watching this little gem of a video, I started to realize just how old this great piece of really is and how it greatly influenced me personally and musically.
God bless Frampton comes Alive
Keep on Jammin’
